What is a sound massage?
It's a form of therapeutic practice that involves using special sound healing instruments to promote physical, mental and emotional well-being. During a sound massage, the recipient will remain fully clothed and be lying down on a yoga mat. Tibetan singing blows of various sizes and notes will be placed on or near their body and played to produce resonant sounds and vibrations. Other instruments, such as chimes, drums and a gong might also be included in the session and played around the person.

The sound waves will massage the body internally to promote deep relaxation and help with restoration and rejuvenation. The vibrations will penetrate the body to gently shake out restrictions and blockages of your natural energy. Through this practice, the body will also be encouraged to release endorphins, the feel-good hormones.

Contradictions
Sound massage involves creating waves of sounds and vibrations using special instruments. This might be inadvisable if the person has certain medical conditions, such as sound-induced epilepsy, tinnitus, ménière's, severe or clinical mental health problems, heart conditions, or those pregnant. If you’re unsure whether the person you want to gift this voucher, should receive a sound massage because of their health, please speak to them about this as they might want to consult their doctor.
